If tinkering with things to make it run the way i want is your only concern. My money already spent. i will definitely be buying one. the more complex a OS the better in my opinion. ever since i was a kid i liked taking things apart and seeing how they work. this phone was made for me. i gota have maemo. the OS is the main reason i want one. its just icing on the cake that it happens to have really good hardware.

Well hereMs the thing.. If you know your way around linux and Maemo.. Or if you are willing to take the risk of fixing things yourself and you have the patience of waiting for bug fixes (cuz this is a new OS and there are plenty of bugs) then yes go ahead because you will love the phone.. But if you don't have patience and you don't have any idea of what you're doing then the N900 isn't right for you.. Maemo 5 is still new and still needs to iron things out.. But imo it's freakin AWESOME!!!

Should i buy one?? i used to have a N810 and i really liked it. I feel this is definitely the best phone or mobile computer that money can buy at the moment. Forget specs even though this phone is up there in that department. Maemo as a platform is the Best. and much more powerfull than android or iphone. so should i take the plunge? last time i bought a 500 dollar phone it didnt turn out so well.
