Shubop requested that I make a video to this song. The only stipulation was that I wear all black.
It's a simple video, but I hope you all like it.

  • all the same girl stupid, just having a little fun, be glad the oldies are still strong in the hearts of the young

  • I just heard this song by the Shangri Las for the first time in my life tonight, then I surfed here. What you did was also impressive, I'm serious, great job. Twirling with that dress on was a truly wonderful idea. Don't stop, you have what it takes.

  • you need help

  • panhead58ful < is crying

  • brilliant!

  • beautifully conceived!

  • That was beautiful.

  • 21 people tried to rape Mary Weiss, and she put them in the hospital.

  • I think this was very well done- keeping it simple let the powerful words come through- not many songs in that era even would allude to rape that way this one does

  • Amazing. Well done.

  • @rospinner Yes, I agree, it's the best outcome. Perhaps back then, no one foresaw there would be interest in the SLs several decades later, so registering the name wasn't important. Several years ago, my wife knew I was a big Platters fan, and bought tickets to a live show for my birthday. It was a "fake" group with none of the people that made the Platters what they had been. It was very disappointing to listen to, and to realize they were profiting from others' good name and hard work.

  • It is my understanding, from a news clip I saw on TV, that the "fake" owner of the name, has ceased using it. Although the Shangri-Las, unfortunately, did not register the name back in the 60's, there was a moral responsibility: not to "live off the fame of others" - and so, the "fakes" lost. It was especially disheartening to see the "fakes" say: "we're about to sing one of OUR songs that made US famous." End result: I, for one, am very happy for the outcome!
