Just because the Military uses something - doesn't mean it's good.

Magpul alone has my money.

@Megatron515. Stop being a dick. We bow to your superior knowledge.Just please remember that not everyone has the extensive experience that you do, and acting like a prick helps them not at all.

I'm a newbie. That was very insightful.
Thanks

@MadOgre They work in my Colt-SP1 and Armalite AR15. Nothing is perfect, but I believe the PMAG to be much better then thE US GI mag. The US GI mags are made of very thin almunium stampings.

@MadOgre Not particularly. I can draw my pmags from my mag pouches without a problem, at full combat speed and under stress. I carried pmags in iraq and had not problems drawing from army-issued molle gear. YMMV of course, but there is no reason for me to switch over all of my mags.

I'm shocked there are so many people actually learning something from this vid. The first thing every AR owner learns is that mil-spec mags suck.

Awesome. glad you told everyone about this...looks like every mag ive seen so far has been a bad one, i thought they were just all like that...i'll be sure to save up for good ones
I just bought a magpul pmag and it is the best one I own. people actually say you can run them over with a truck and they wont break or cause a nosedive. to hell with the army mags just cause they are made by colt dose not mean they are worth a shit.

@krosgood Yet another Magpul fanboy is born. It's a good mag, but they dont work in all AR type magwells. Doesn't sound like you have a lot of experience, so it's best to try everything you can and not hang your penis off just one brand. Colt made fine magazines. Most USGI mags are made by about a dozen different manufacturers... and most have anti-tilt followers. I've seen MagPul mags Jam, just like other types.

@MadOgre This isn't magpul's problem. They make their magazines to fit mil-spec mag wells. I'm not a magpul fanboy, but HK mags jam in my LWRCI and pmags function flawlessly.. It's silly for you to call anybody who likes a magpul product a fanboy.

@megatron515 Have you tried the Troy Battlemags?
MadOgre 5 months ago
@MadOgre No. I still have a ton of pmags so I don't have any reason (or money) to try them for now. A couple of my buddies bought some and they same the only thing the battlemag has over the pmag is the smaller profile and a flush baseplate, so the mags can be drawn from molle pouch easily.
