Where is the Change....3.21.2009

As the mother of a Marine who served two tours in Iraq who came home 80% disabled , he would call me and say, Mom, I don't deserve to live anymore, I have a gun in mouth, I have to pull the trigger, I can't live with all the innocent women and children I've killed. As the mother of a soldier, A son who sought help in the Army for his PTSD last month and the same week they said he was cured, he was arrested and put in a County jail for hitting his wife, my son, who in June will be deployed back to Iraq for his second tour. I say three more years is too long!!!
What is our troops mission for the next three years? Train Iraqi military and police, guard our embassy and military bases, and find and attack Al Qaeda. These are the same three objectives the Bush policy gave us since 2004. But we are told this is different. There is a change. They will be non-combat forces. Let me tell you my sons duties as a non-combat Marine. He was Artillery. They bombed and shelled An Najaf, Al Nasiriyah and Fallujah in 2003 and 2004. The Iraqi women and children were just as dead. Let me tell you, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A NON COMBAT SOLDIER OR MARINE. We now have the same mission with the same deadly force that is still revisable to Conditions on the ground. This is a continuation of the policy Bush left office with. A Policy unchanged by Obama. Where's is this change?




We are supposed to be appeased that in two years there will be 50,000 of our sons and daughters in Iraq instead of 135,000. As a mother, when our sons and daughters are sent back in flag draped coffins, we do not ask if they were one of a 135,000 or 1 in 50,000. They are still just as dead. When our sons and daughters come home, broken in mind and soul, trying to kill themselves with many succeeding, we do not ask if they were one in 135,000 who served or one in 50,000. They are still just as broken, just as lost, just as dead. Even with a reduction of forces in Iraq if conditions on the ground permit our sons and daughters will be sent to occupy Afghanistan and expand our violence into Pakistan.
Our children will be just as dead, just as broken serving in Afghanistan as in Iraq. The Afghanistan and Pakistan women and children will be just as dead. Where is this change?
I do not see the change.
We must continue the struggle, We must be louder than ever as you will hear many tell us to shut up and go away....don't tell the public the truth that there has been no change....that we should not challenge the leaders of our country because they are now labeled as Democrats rather than Republicans. As we have fewer voices we must be louder now than ever before, they must hear us all the way to the Pentagon and the White House.....I SAY Peace NOW Peace NOW Peace NOW

As the mother of a US Army SOldier , who just completed his second tour in Iraq. We have fought this war long enough. My son, Ricket and Mortar unit, were fired upon by missle attacks daily ,after Obama claimed our Combat troops had all come home. All hell broke loose and they were left to defend themselves who they were told to trust. I agree, we must stop this war,... Spare the blood of our young men and women. Please bring troops home !My prayers are with Mike, Fran. .God go with us..
