Albert De Rippe was the lutenist of King François 1er. He was Italian (Alberto da Mantova) and one of the most known virtuoso of the instrument. His fantaisies are probably some of the most difficult pieces on the lute (this one being perhaps the easyest...)

  • so beautiful!! My guitar background is classical, but this instrument looks intimidating. Where do you get tab for this, as well as how difficult is it? I would appreciate any guidence.

  • The works by Albert de Rippe are edited by the CNRS (Corpus des Luthistes Français), Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (France).

    It is some of the most difficult music to play on the lute... ;-) (this one being one of the easyest)
