This is the monthly test of the Town of Vernon CT public warning siren system on October 6th 2007. The siren, a 12 port (slot) Federal Signal Model 5, is located on the roof of Vernon fire station 441 on Nye St. I apologize for the jitteriness on the video, I didn't have my tripod with me. A few notes: The message you hear over my scanner at the beginning, is Director of Emergency Managment, Michael Purcaro, doing a live voice announcment over our new Whelen WS 2008. You'll also hear the crew of Truck 541 shouting "here we go" right after the test message. I had to edit out me moving into possition, some brief conversation, and the siren activation going over my scanner (I know none of you would of done anything if it were left in). The air horn blast you hear after the 1st cycle was the crew of truck 541 honking at youtube user Trains0509 who tagged along that day.
