Canon SX110 IS video from a Tampa Bay Bucs game from the top of the stands.

This video was shot using my Canon SX110 IS from "nosebleed" seats. The view was suprisingly better than I thought and the video from the camera using the zoom at 10x came out outstanding.

hello guys. I have a question here. I want to buythat Canon SX110 IS. it looks great, it's compact and has a lot of features, great value for your money too but what I've been hearing is that whle recording video it's either makes squickysounds of zoomng or mutes the sound completely for the time of zooming. And some say it doesn't zoom in and out at all. Can anyone clarify me on that? Does it apply only to optical zoom or to the digital as well? please do a reply so I can get a notification. Tx

I posted the video. You cannot I repeat cannot opticaly zoom in while shooting video mode. With that said the digital zoom can be used and may I add its not your tipical digital zoom. It focuses so it gets optimal digitilization lol if thats a word lol and it zooms great. There is no noise from zooming since it doesnt use an optical zoom. Had the camera since Xmas 08 and it take great shots from far away seats. I used it at NBA games upper level seats and shots appear like front row level.

There's a newer version of this camera, but I don't know if that was fixed.  I have had that problem twice in the past year. Other than that, the camera is great for it's price

If you don't mind having no manual photo modes, go for Panasonic TZ5. If you want manual modes and slightly better image quality then SX110(has the best image quality of all three).

You can preset your optical zoom level before you start recording your video, but once the recording starts, you can only adjust the digital zoom.

i don't understand,please clear up my thoughts,because i've read that this camera cannot use the zoom while it's filming,i now you filmed with zoom with the camera! how come?

is it the same model? please answer me !

Good quality, I have one of these and they are great.

Shame about the Buccs though! lol.
