Kevin Smith is a campaigner and activist with Carbon Trade Watch. In this video he talks to us about the UN's so called "Clean Development Mechanism" and how it is being used to profit polluters.

I'm not sure if this is a 'one sided view'. Theoretically, the CDM functions beautifully, but when monitoring the CDM projects that have been registered (which is what Carbon Trade Watch does), it becomes very clear that the majority of issued CERs come from the registration of industrial projects: chemical industries, oil refineries, etc.
I suggest for those who consider this a "one sided view", please look at the unfccc registry and the CDM pipeline to inform your opinions.

highly loaded and a one sided view, CDM might have some flaws this guy is saying basically that CDM is a sham, which it is not. Very unfortunate

Can somebody provide me with a reference for the studies saying that 30-40% of CDM projects are non-additional?
I need it for an essay and as much as I appreciate the work you guys are doing I need primary sources!

Quite an imaginative proselytism exercise! So CDM does not work because in the cases he describes there are flaws. Frankly, a few specific negative cases to not result in generalities of CDM. One tree being sick does not mean they are all sick.
