An actual demonstration with instructor Ron Hodges of a hypnotic shock induction! The subject drops like a ragdoll! This clip is from Hypnosis Motivation Institute's Vintage Video Library...

The Foundations Course is full of demonstrations and practical assignments. The principal goals of the Foundations course are the Emotional and Physical (E&P) Suggestibility and Sexuality concepts, created by Dr. John Kappas.
Greatly responsible for HMI's success and reputation, these written and oral exams provide the hypnotist with a behavioral profile that enables them to organize their linguistic pattern to perfectly match the suggestibility of the subject. The use of the E & P Suggestibility profile renders virtually everyone hypnotizable.

When demonstrating or applying hypnotic techniques, injury can occur in chairs with metal arms and other parts when the subject dramatically falls over. I would suggest that the students be aware of this.

Anyone remember Ron's last name. It's been a while and I was thinking of this very video in the last month.

I've experienced a rapid induction, both as a subject and as a master hypnotist, but I've not used this one! I think this was a subject who had been hypnotized before, as trust of HIMSELF is paramount. And I do mean of himSELF. He says Roger is a conditioned subject, by the way. There's no acting necessary, by the way. The suggestion that he's stuck to the chair would have been best made during the induction, however!

Does it really affect people? I just look at the guy and think he's acting, how do we know he's not kidding on?

@joannetteself As mentioned in the video, this technique is used for emergency purposes only....such as in a hospital, extreme hysterical trauma, or the battle field...that is the only time that this is an advisable process.

So, what's the point/purpose of this type of induction? Is there a set of circumstances in which this is an advisable process, or is it just for show? I don't get it.
