I can remember beating this game on my Turbo Express sitting on my friends couch in 1990

I've been a Compile fan as of current, and this game looks awesome. I think I might be playing this again another day.

Only game I'v ever seen where you fight giant, floating, multicolor, space brains.
-
Areo Blasters was even better.
-
Now here's a PC Shooter where your worst fears are a 3 piece spaceship, a cone, a robot, a two headed dragon, a brain, tank and who can forget the blue witch?

and is hard as hell, i cant pass lvl 7

i broke two controllers with this game! :D this is the best shooter i have ever played, thoroughly enjoyed the bass kickin music too!
I barely remember the last boss... i think i did beat it in god mode?

another game I played the pants off of when I was a kid.
I found the hidden power up bonus . at the very beginning of the game I forget who I did it but there's a ship in the start of the game if you don't attack it and let it pass you it will zoom back up from behind you and drop a bunch of power up's and 1up's if I remember correctly.

These graphics look gorgeous. This one comes out tomorrow and I'd be downloading it for sure if I didn't utterly suck at space shooters. >:P Are the TGfx-16 and the Dreamcast basically the best consoles for these types of games?

Saturn is the greatest shooter console ever, with PC Engine/TG16 not far behind it. Dreamcast is getting there and is actually STILL getting shooters released for it even still today. : )

Although I had a TG-16 myself, it was my brother who actually owned this game. I only got to play it a little, so I'm very glad to hear its finally coming to theVC, because I remember it being a blast to play.
What I didn't realize, having not seen the game in action for several years, was how much it resembles a later shooter -Space Megaforce on the SNES. I know little about the lineage of these shooter series, but I'd have to imagine there must be some connection between the two.

You have a good eye, as Compile developed both shooters. Very similar, and although I do prefer Space Megaforce just a little more, Blazing Lazers is still one of the best out there. Also look for another Compile shooter called Zanac.
