Laibach - Victory Under the Sun (1988) Part 3

Excellent documentary about the Slovenian band martial-industrial Laibach (german word for Ljubljana, Slovenia). It depicts in pure "laibachian" style history of the group according to conditions of Slovenian history and political situation on the beginning of the 80's. This film can be taken as a visual manifesto of retrogardist cultural movement called NSK (Neue slowenische Kunst - New Slovenian Art) presented here by Laibach. NSK is dealing with totalitarian principles of creating visual or performing art, containing rare footage of early Laibach events including suicidee vocalist Tomaž Hostnik (1961-1982). Also attacks on Laibach by members of the Yugoslavian Communist League, press, Socialist Youth and Partisan organisations are read out.

The idea that, “man must sacrifice himself for others”, (which is today’s populist morality) – Is wrong! Evil: is the idea that man must sacrifice himself for others in order to justify his existence; (this type of altruism is merely an unstable attempt to support a weakling’s sagging self image). What hypocritical irony in the weakling who lives as a “sacrificial animal” for others; and yet always demands to be coddled like an infant by the same society to which he selfishly sacrifices.

koliko su oni ustvari bili ispred svog vremena, i imali su muda ogromna da se onako usprotive SFRJ rezimu, svaka im cast bas ih gotivim mnogo! nisu bili ispranih mozgova! na njih nije uticala Titova Propaganda! Laibach sluzi da kritikuje drustvena uredjenja kao sto su Nacizam, komunizam, kapitalizam, pa cak i Demokratija (ona americka)! a okrenuti su ideji o Pan Slavenizmu! a inace Laibah razume slobodu, Ljubav, prosvetljenje! oni su umetnici, a umetnike je uvek tesko shvatiti
