@jumperontheline sorry to go against your beliefs but Sanskrit is the root to most north Indian languages like Gujarati Hindi-urdu Punjabi Romani and Bengali. Sanskrit is indo-European which explains its relation to the other languages it's evident in verb conjugation in indo european languages

@truevaluevintage Hi Rob, his gorgeous singing is the ( Indian ) rag style. ( Pronounced like ma or lah.) It uses a different scale to western music - sa, ri (ree), ga instead of doh, ray, mee. I did a workshop once at a sacred voice retreat, we were learning a rag to Ganesh - difficult but wonderful !

@mishsood The root of all European languages ( including English ) is Sanskrit ( via Latin.) The most obvious examples are the words we use to describe God, which all begin with the prefix 'om'. Omnipresent; omniscient; omnipotent ... All present, All knowing, All powerful ... Thank you for the translation of ' Durga ' : )

I see a few kids in my school do things unacceptable to hindus and the only thing I can do I pray for them. I listen continuously to the vedas and have a sanskrit book, but I cannot understand Sanskrit that well as I only self-studied for the past three years. Can someone pass me something where I can learn the vedas in english. But, I don't need a translation. Specifically I am looking for the sama and rig veda. On top of that, I need the sama more, because I actually read it. Thank you all Om.

the real thing is that hindu religion is the oldest in existence in the world so the concept of Mother Durga existed thousands of years before Christ.
