  • the real thing is that hindu religion is the oldest in existence in the world so the concept of Mother Durga existed thousands of years before Christ.

  • @jumperontheline sorry to go against your beliefs but Sanskrit is the root to most north Indian languages like Gujarati Hindi-urdu Punjabi Romani and Bengali. Sanskrit is indo-European which explains its relation to the other languages it's evident in verb conjugation in indo european languages

  • @truevaluevintage Hi Rob, his gorgeous singing is the ( Indian ) rag style. ( Pronounced like ma or lah.) It uses a different scale to western music - sa, ri (ree), ga instead of doh, ray, mee. I did a workshop once at a sacred voice retreat, we were learning a rag to Ganesh - difficult but wonderful !

  • @mishsood The root of all European languages ( including English ) is Sanskrit ( via Latin.) The most obvious examples are the words we use to describe God, which all begin with the prefix 'om'. Omnipresent; omniscient; omnipotent ... All present, All knowing, All powerful ... Thank you for the translation of ' Durga ' : )

  • I see a few kids in my school do things unacceptable to hindus and the only thing I can do I pray for them. I listen continuously to the vedas and have a sanskrit book, but I cannot understand Sanskrit that well as I only self-studied for the past three years. Can someone pass me something where I can learn the vedas in english. But, I don't need a translation. Specifically I am looking for the sama and rig veda. On top of that, I need the sama more, because I actually read it. Thank you all Om.
