15th Foundational Falsehood of Creationism Pt 1

The first of a two-part final installment to this series, explaining what the words, hypothesis, fact, law, and Theory actually are, rather than what creationists want us to think they are. Hint: ...

How is it possible to believe that which is not true ? Each and every person may imagine some condition or set, but naturally stores it as a temporary notion until further experience enables them to modify or discount it; ie this cycle of existential sensibility is required until no more experience is necessary when that one revealing the truth transpires.

Which is a laughably clumsy attempt to differentiate between the "living" proof and the "abstract".

Now, if that's a fact; am I lying ?

You can actually mix the two together, with much success. (Hawking radiation anyone?) The real problems come from the fact that general relativity is not renormalizable AND is background independent. This means that it cannot be quantized. When it is mixed with QM, it is simply treated as a change in the background metric tensor. But, as you've said, at sufficiently high energies or sufficiently small lengths, a quantum theory of gravitation is needed, and GR just ain't it.

Special relativity yes, but not general relativity.

Basically, mass-energy in the form of binding energy gets converted into radiation and kinetic energy.

The two primary (primary in that they are the most commonly observable, not primary in that they are the only ones worth mentioning) problems with Newton's theory is that it predicts that gravtational fields propogate at infinite speed (they actually propogate at light speed) and it fails to predict that gravity can bend light.

In fact both christian writers you list were not objecting to the idea of a spherical world, but the idea that there were people in the antipodes because it would mean there must have been two Adams, two falls, two deluges, and two Crucifixions/Resurrections. And most educated people, religious or otherwise accept that the Earth was a globe in Columbus's day. Columbus by contrast thought it was egg shaped; that is: with a smaller circumference along the equator than from pole to pole.

One can imagine a Mr. Jones in 3150: 1200 years ago everyone KNEW humans shared ancestry with chimpanzees. After 150 years Darwins theory is stronger than ever -- see his gun at 3:53?! ;-)
Evolution might well be the majority report in the fifth millennium. Geocentricitys endurance suggests the possibility.
Ancient religions taught a flat earth? They certainly utilized phenomenological terms. Religion has taught that humans are created and may be reconciled with their Creator.

Wrong. Do not try and question people on something you do not understand.

Gravity is a theory - The Theory of Gravity. A theory explains a group of facts - Gravity is a fact, the explanation is the theory of gravity.

The exact same applies to evolution. If you think otherwise, you are wrong, and you need to research this more. Because you do not decide what is and isn't a fact, thankfully. Scientists do. And they have decided it is a fact. Based on evidence. Therefore you are wrong.
