close the fed/state bureaucracy and all the green industries would be a great industry. We have not been allowed to manufacture American cars since 1966. legalize American cars and it will take a matter of days for higher mileage, lower emissions and even alternative fuel vehicles to be on the road. Same thing goes for solar power. let us spend our own money and it can happen, keep the fascist government, and it never will.

@Mectrixctic I agree but subsidies don't make fossile fuels that much cheaper. The fact is green energy generally speaking is only profitable when gas prices are above 3 dollars a gallon. Its kinda ironic that the corporation lobbied to deregulate the commodities industry to speculate prices upward and will probably be the down fall of fossil fuel eventually because the higher fossil fuel price rise the more marketable green and renewable energy become .

Green energy generally take a lot of time and money to set up, but in the long run they're better and easier for people to own, like in Germany.

Nuclear energy, and I believe oil and coal too, and have subsidies from the government which is how they can seem so cheap. Besides, cars and light bulbs that use less energy from these sources will be easier on your wallet.

Actually whats happening is they deregulated the futures and commodities industry and now the prime decider in energy prices is speculation as oppose to sound supply and demand. People think that certain political parties control gas prices but it was the futures and commodities modernization act of2000that caused energy prices to increaseGreen energy usually only sells when excessive speculation prices fossil energy out of the market
