these things are SOOOOO COLORFUL!! i keep thinking whether or not if i have time to get some of these birds as my house pets along with my singing canary!! my canary seems lonely..! >.<

I had a male white breasted that molted to become a blue breasted. When I consulted bird sites I was told that means he was not getting the right vitamins and not enough sunshine. It was more of a medical condition than genetics.

Hi Michigan117 ~~ It is only white breast males who get it. A lot give the reasons you mention but I dont believe it. I bought him like that but despite the best and varied diet and loads of vitamins he was never a very healthy bird. I do think it might be genetics/ medical but not related to those reasons. He just got darker and more navy and I lost him recently. He had a good life and I miss him! J x

Hi. Yes he still has it and is just finishing a molt so I would love to breed him!! Ill just see if he will oblige!! Hahaha!!
