Take a look at this 11 foot fresh water monster that was caught in Oklahoma. It just might make you think before you go swimming in a lake, river, or stream.
@mkie47 WE CALL THEM ALLIGATOR GAR HERE IN TEXAS DUMB SHIT!!!!!!!, if you can't keep up with an intellectual conversation..don't speak! Let the women handle it.
@RastabansPrincess are you a bio major with a minor in ecology like my daughter? Who goes out into the field and studies all things related to invertebrates? I will have to ask her about the poisonous eggs..we don't seem to have a problem with the gar eggs killing our fresh water fish here..Sorry about the Missouri River..our main problem is mercury levels so high you can't eat the the bass you catch out of the Neches River. So basically our fishing trips are catch and release only.
you do realize that their eggs are extremely poisonous to the other native fish and they will die if they try to eat them and they are causing a huge problem in the Missouri river
It is also well known that Aligator Gar do not eat or bite ppl. They are very useful in our ecosystem in getting rid of sick/dead fish, etc...Only Connasses eat em..LOL ;) Salute` to my friends next door in La.
Now we have Gar here in Texas in the Trinity River, but nothing has been reported this big...I just thought everything was BIG in Texas..LOL...wonder which lake it was caught in??? EUFALLA???
