Rio Grande (USA 1950) Directed by John Ford stars John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. to while away the time with a song, Ken Curtis, Ben Johnson, Harry Carey Jr. and Claude Jarman Jr.
This scene always makes me smile. It's so off-the-cuff and joyous -- especially when they sing the "Aha, San Antone" part. Dale Evans certainly had a clever gift with words.
The next scene with Jeff and his mother, Kathleen, is wonderful too. Claude Jarman, Jr. and Maureen O'Hara were excellent in it. Thanks for the clip!
Rio Grande must be among the top 3 movies ever made! John Ford set himself, the US Army and the whole USA a monument that will last hundreds of years when he created the trilogy about the US Cavalry.
I only wish they had made proper sound tracks back then with all the songs in full length.
I have seen Rio Grande at least 25 times or so and never get tired watching it again.
