  • Purchasing tires for those once-every-ten-year Death Ice From Hell commutes probably doesn’t make sense. If we chose to do this we would ride bikes with ten pound tires equipped with four hundred two-inch spikes

    Tire manufacturers place the studs near the center of the tire to contact the riding surface during ninety-eight percent of our winter riding. Stud number and placement still matter but studs staying put and not falling out are more important.
