MaximumRD asked what system we would chose to play for the rest of our lives if we could only have one. It could not be any of the current generation of systems.

I chose....the GAMECUBE! I know, and odd choice. But for a good reason. It has some of my favourite games... AND
Ports, remakes, and games from:
Arcade
Intellivision
NES
SNES
N64
Genesis
Gameboy
Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advanced
Playstation
Dreamcast

Another reason I did not mention was that the Gamecube has much faster loading times than many other CD-based systems.

  • Actually, before you mentioned the gamecube I was thinking that the gameboy advance or DS lite were nintendo's best consoles, because of the massive library of gameboy games they can play. But yeah, the gamecube can also play all of those games (except DS ones).

  • lol it has great games like:

wind waker, mario sunshine, soulcalibur 2, mariparty, zelda, ssbm, and the fact that the gamecube had so many accessories!

  • id go with gamecube..

  • The Gamecube also has the ability to use a device called the Freeloader, which allows you to play games from other regions (Japan, Europe, etc). I think it was made by the creators of Action Replay, AND it was only made for the Gamecube. I choose Gamecube.

  • Oh man... you totally have me questioning why i traded my cube in for the wii... Sure the wii can do most of the GC stuff but i had to give up my gameboy player :( . I figured i would solve this by emulating my titles on my psp and using the tv-out function... It works and all but like you mentioned in one of your other videos about the nes experience, its just not the same! I think when i have the money i may start collecting some gamecube items again. great video :)

  • Ya I did. Still though, I've heard enough from other people to be turned off from the system. I personally only know 2 people that have only owned one PS1. The rest all had their first (and sometimes second one) break.

  • Interesting...my fat one eventually stopped playing Blue-Disc PS2 games, then DVDs, then PS1 games, then the whole thing died after I tried cleaning it. No problems with my slim. Did you buy yours used or refurbished? That's always risky.

  • Ya, they were both slims. I've actually heard the complete opposite from many people: that the slims were the bad ones. I shouldn't say that they "broke", the just didn't work when I got them. The first one I got couldn't play PS2 games, and the other one I got couldn't play PS1 games or DvDs.
