Nokia 5800 v31.0.008 (how to in more info)

got my 5800 xm in black, with v21 firmware 2 weeks ago. it has lots of bugs...
so I changed my product code by nss, and used nokia software updater to v30 my firmware. still, it has some bugs, but its much faster than v21. sound quality has increased yet its volume slightly decreased.
later I found out that v31 was released just a few days ago. so I updated. then again, the latest firmware seems faster. the loudspeaker is crunchier... product code is "0573794" - apac black v31. i used nsu because fota(firmware over the air) doesn't work here in the phils. still, there is no kinetic scrolling or widgetized home screen yet. looking forward though. ;)

How to:

(Read all instructions first. tnx.)

1. First, download and install nss: " http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2 "
2. Connect your phone and wait for Windows to install the drivers.
3. Open Nemesis Service Suite and click Scan for new device on the right-upper part of the window.
4. Click on the icon Phone info
5. Click on Scan
6. Change the product code to 0573794 (this is black v31, for other colors, google it. no install issue whatsoever, its just that you might want to match the firmware with ur phone's housing color. :p) then mark the box Enable.
7. Press Write, and your phones product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, and the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, but dont worry, the product code is changed!).
8. Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update.
9. Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!
10. Thats it! When you restart your phone, its updated to v31. ;)

p.s. once you got v31, you might want to change back to your original product code. (updating doesn't void the warranty) just so you know. :p

guys, v50 is the latest firmware. use the same product code, and re-update. v50 features kinetic scrolling (also in menu) and new music player. ;)

Thanks ,i really wanted to update the firmware but when i was checking for update it always said i had the latest version , even thow i had v21 . Your tutorial worked great, i have updated to v31.0.101 now.
