http://www.driver-coaching.com - This is an onboard from Race 1 of an MX5 race at Croft Circuit. The car was fitted with the VIDEO4 system from Race Technology and driven by Malcolm Edeson of http://www.driver-coaching.com (yes, you too can learn to crash like this).
I had to dive to the right as I had been hit from behind and had I hit the green car in front there would have been the most tremendous startline pile up. I thought I'd made it passed but the yellow car whipped back across the grass in front of me at the last minute.
The car was a rent-a-drive from Keystone Group who run many cars in the MX5 Championship. The car hit (yellow) was championship contender Rob Boston. Rob managed to get out in race 2 but the impact had pinched the coil cable which broke on lap 1 and he had to retire. Thankfully Rob managed to sort the problem as came back to post a podium finish in Race 3.
Hi, this race series looks awesome fun and i'd love to have a go myself in the next year or 2. how much does it costs to prepare and run a car for these events, what licences are required and what age can you start at?

Amr276,
Mine was a rental drive from keystonegroup who rent out and run a number of peoples cars, send me a msg if you want contact details.
I know cars can be bought and prepped for less than £5k and running costs are very low. Tyres (road tyres, discounted to the series) last best part of a season and the car is very easy on brakes and such. Your biggest expense is entry fees but thats the same in any motorsport. In this case around £250-£300 per race weekend (2 or 3 races).

License : All you need is a National B which is the first license you get once you pass your ARDS test. Age wise there are race license holders from 14 year of age in series' like Ginetta Junior and SaxMax, not sure they are under some dispensation or what the MX5 series allow. Again, Keystone can help there.

From what I understand the grey car went for a closing gap between the white car on the left and the yellow on the right, the resulting collision sent the yellow car spearing off to the right.
The other Yellow car that was hit on the far right and went right onto the grass also had to retire with broken suspension
