@angelface22322 the 'bolsheviks' as you put it, were more than likely comprised of ukrainian singers - the Soviet Union aka USSR was comprised of not only Russia, but other countries under the jackboot of Russian imperialism

better to be able to sing one's songs under soviet imperialism than not at all

I'll never understand how the Bolsheviks can put so much more heart and so much more feeling into a Ukrainian folk song than Ukrainians tried to do.

This old American whose mother was Ukrainian still feels the pull of the old country.

I did not understand a word but it sounds sentimental. Beautiful. I learned to love music from my Ukrainian grandmother and mother. Best teaching of all.
