They closed the Luas because of potential visibility and obstruction problems on the nearby roads/tracks. The building was a mostly-empty storage place undergoing roof repairs at the sprawling Guinness site, and is a good distance away from the brewing facility. Unfortunately, two firefighters were injured while dealing with the fire that likely resulted from a blow torch igniting the tar for the flat root. Some people were evacuated. Thankfully the firefighters will recover. No beer suffered.

It's mad they kept making it when the fire was burning, yet they closed the Luas.

Imagine if the whole factory burned down? Irish people would be looting and killing each other to get their hands on a can of Guinness.
