"Blood Brothers" - Who Is the Muslim Brotherhood

There has been much speculation as to who or "what" the Muslim Brotherhood is. But, one thing is for sure, it is NOT a "secular" organization. In fact, its ideology has spawned some of the most violent terrorist organizations in the world. If democracy is to prevail in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood is not the organization to bring it.

Whats the big secret, of course the Muslim Brotherhood is not a secular organisation, but as the largest group with the greatest follwing in Egypt, the leadership is confronted with the wishes and demands of the secularists who are a MINORITY! They are now faced with creating a legitimate government that caters for all Egyptians, not all liberals are secularists btw, you can be Muslim and Liberal.

How can it be "largely secular?" It has the word Muslim - who is a follower of the RELIGION of Islam - right in its name. Now, switch Muslim with Christian. Christian Brotherhood - sounds super religious, doesn't it?

@Zusya363 While your facts are correct in that Begin and Shamir were elected, it is not the same situation. They fought against the British yoke of oppression, to establish a free nation, based on democratic principles of self-determination. The Muslim Brotherhood, on the other hand, is driven by a radical ideology, with an oppressive worldview at its core. Sadat may have been a member, but he was not a leader.
