But if Dave knocks down Dan and wins the round it is 10-8. So if Dave knocks down Dan, but it's a weak knock down, and Dan then DOMINATES Dave for two and a half minutes, in effect "winning" the round, does it revert to 10-9 in Dan's favour? No, it becomes 9-9.
As for the 10-10 thing, I AGREE. But the rules of boxing, (and MMA) when it comes to scoring are a fucking farce anyway. Peace dude.

@HoneyIEducatedTheWeb Hmm..Then why call it "ten- point -must system" ?I thought, as the term suggest, atleast one fighter( the winner of the round) must be given the ten point at the end of the round.It's my understanding that 9-9 score can only happen if the winning boxer is given a point deduction.Still it would only appear in the final summation of the score as only the referee can deduct poins..Btw, at the probable scenario you cited? I will call it a draw hence a 10-10 round..Peace bro!

Yes there is.
If X knocks Y down, you'd think 10-8. But if Y dominates the round apart from possible a lucky knockdown, he "wins it" 10-9. Combine the two and you get a 9-9 round.

wuttup bigragu, just one thing, floyd won't use the philly shell as much against a southpaw anyway. against southpaws he uses the high and tight guard. the few times he has used the philly shell against southpaws, he's gotten caught on the chin by corley and judah. floyd is too smart not to learn from those experiences.
