The historic organ at the Basilica of Our Dear Lady in Maastricht, The Netherlands, dates from 1652, restored most recently by Flentrop in 1984. The organ case has large doors with old paintings on them. The church was quite dark, so there's not much light for the video. -Neal Biggers

  • When I play softly, I just use quiet stops.

I can't imagine them closing those doors, unless one is practicing and they want to limit volume.

But when practicing, I use just 8' Praestants.

  • it does close when they wanna play softly...

  • Neal, do they ever close those huge case doors?

    Thank you,
