As Draper searches for food, water and oxygen, he eventually discovers that the dead planet may actually harbor life -- but it's not clear whether the Martians are friends or foes.

Surprised they mentioned the U word @7:38 (urine) back in '64 considering Hollywood's prudishness at the time.

Despite some dodgy science re; Mars (can't blame them really) the film is nicely made and apart from one or two slightly dodgy effects,  the production values are quite good. One of my fave movies.

that was the main ship that they had to eject from. Somehow he lost control of it when he was using voice commands to it. He ended up destroying it to remove any evidence of his presence on the planet as the hostile aliens arrived.
