Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Rakwon Machine Complex and Soap Shop of Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory

Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the Rakwon Machine Complex and the Soap Shop of the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory.

The first leg of his guidance was the Rakwon Machine Complex.

Going round production processes including the Large Engineering Shop and the Sheet Metal Processing Shop, he acquainted himself with technological updating and production there and saw the newly manufactured machines.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the workers in Rakwon, noting that they have increased the production and delivery of efficient machines to various fields of the national economy in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude, thus making a great contribution to demonstrating the might of the independent national economy, and dynamically pushed forward the modernization and scientification of production processes, thereby successfully carrying out the complex's assignments for this year as of the end of October.

He put forward the tasks to be carried out by the complex, underscoring the need for it to boost the manufacture of various type machines including oxygen plants and decisively improve their quality.

He expressed expectation and conviction that the workers in Rakwon would make a great leap forward in the machine production with the same spirit and stamina as they displayed in every annul of the revolution and thus continue to give full play to the heroic mettle of the Korean working class.

The next leg of his guidance was the Soap Shop of the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory.

Being briefed on the shop before a huge painting showing a panoramic view of the shop, he walked round the newly built production processes to learn in detail about the technological equipment and production there.

He was greatly satisfied to learn that the factory has successfully reconstructed the shop on a modern basis and kept its production going at high rate.

Examining in detail the quality of various kinds of soap produced at the factory, he was greatly pleased to learn that the best cosmetics convenient for their use and good for the health of people are being mass-produced.

Saying that all cosmetics including toilet soap, toothpaste, cream and lotion produced at the factory are very high in quality ranging from their composition to their packing, he noted that this is the fruition of the persevering and tireless efforts made by the workers of the factory in the spirit of devoted service to the people.

He stressed the need to ensure the best quality of cosmetics to be supplied to the servicepersons and people and indicated the tasks to be fulfilled by the factory and ways to do so.

He was accompanied by Kim Phyong Hae, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK.
