The Ray Ban Gold Aerobatic flew at air shows across North America in the 1980's. Video shot in Vancouver, BC and Edmonton, AB this short clip features pilots Rod Ellis, George Kirbyson, Bill Cowan and Al Hauff all flying the Pitts S-2B.
They are probably one of the top 3 reasons I ended up flying. I was 7 when my sister brought home the Abbotsford '89 video and I watched their routine dozens of times.
I loved the team flying! i purchased C-FAMR from Bil after the team disbanded.Flew it for a number of years and then donated it to the Canadian National Aviation Museum in Ottawa. Declared a national treasure. It represents the best in Canadian aerobatics.Miss seeing you guys fly!
Good stuff there =)
