Mexican Drug Cartel Violence Against Americans

It was just a matter of time. Drug cartels in Mexico have targeted US citizens working for the US Government. And succeeded in killing some of them. How much more drug war failure can the US stomach? Isn't it time to try alternatives to outright prohibition? From what I can see all we've done is recreate Al Capone except now the murders are in Mexico instead of Chicago!
