@EnzoCheLatino Im not bitter or delusional, I respected Barca before that game against Chelsea in the champions league final. Before the semi final with Inter aswell. They were a joke. Before then ask me about Barca and I would of said great team. Not anymore.

See theses guys aint that good i feel like im an awful lot better and im 16 but i just dont know how to get noticed and become a pro player...

@Biddey Actually, St. Georges Park is nothing like Clairefontaine, all it's going to be used for is a place for the various England teams to train, and other local initiatives, it will not be used to develop players at all.

Wilshere looks pretty good. Still youth promise is one thing. I remember us Irish felt we had the best young players in Europe in 1998. Convincing u16, u18 Euro Champs, 3rd in World Cup u20s, players playing with the ballplaying skill & technique you wouldn't associate with an Irish team. And what came out of it in the end? Nothing, most of them never made it into top flight English football or the Irish senior team.

@gunninlinguist There have been. Granted nowhere near enough. But the level of technique is improving all the time. If you look at players like Jack Wilshere, Josh Mceachran and Ravel Morrison thy are all small players with loads of technique. More money is being put into club youth teams and the influence of foreign players and coaches has certainly helped. A new national football centre called St Georges Park is being developed modeled on the French one Clairefontaine. We are finally learning.

Well these lads look like the usual English brand of pace & power. They're a good half foot taller than the Spanish lads. They'll lose that advantage at senior level. Has there been any actual initiatives in England to promoting technique?
-
@gunninlinguist Historically England aren't very good at youth tournaments. But our current youth players have far more technique than in the past and it is now starting to show. Hopefully it will transfer to the senior team.

Interesting how England are good at youth tournenements cos they rely on power and pace when their players are in their prime, then Italy are poor cos they rely on strong defense and Catenacchio tactics and defenders don't hit their prime until their late 20's (learning proper positioning etc).
