Great round for barn buddy Mary and Lorenzo. If you were wondering, after she's finished with the first part of her time in the ring (at about 1:40 in the clip) Mary is waiting for the judge to give the whistle signal for her to begin the jump-off. She did very well, winning second place. In jumping contests like this one, competitors aren't judged on style, but on how fast they can complete the course with the least number of penalty points. Some of them reach amazing speed between fences, but the riders have to maintain control to get their horses over the jumps cleanly. They really do perform "on the edge."
