The daily Sydney to Melbourne XPT service is seen in the late afternoon as it passes through Kilmore East (Victoria). The leading power car is XP2001 which has a unique "Naidoc 50 Years" promotional livery.

Auscision Models have recently announced they will be producing a highly detailed HO scale model of the XPT passenger train, details can be found on their website http://www.auscisionmodels.com.au/

The XPT has been in service since 1982, and is based on the InterCity 125 (or Class 43) design used by British Rail. XPT services operate between Sydney - Melbourne, Sydney - Casino, Sydney - Brisbane, Sydney - Grafton and Sydney - Dubbo
