From EHC-TV, an interview with Chick Davis. Davis is dubbed the father of the choral program at Emory & Henry College. He talks about his journey to E&H and about how he started the choral program. Blake Stowers is the interviewer. This interview originally aired as part of Emory & Henry Reports on March 26 and 27, 2008, on Comcast Channel. Emory & Henry Reports is a production of the mass communications department of Emory & Henry College.
Anyone who spent a year or more working with Doc Davis realizes that a choir of his will always have a unique sound-- mostly because of Doc's interpretation of the music and lyrics and how those have to move ("sound in motion!"), AND the spiritual reverence and attitude he brings to the direction and performance of every piece. He is one of the finest musicians, teachers, and PEOPLE with whom I've had the privilege of working.
