This was mostly likely the best song Lew Dewitt performed for the Statler Brothers. His voice was haunting yet pure...we met the man once at a fair in Michigan and he was a total gentleman.
Great rendition of Life's Railway...uncanny, My aunt (who just passed away a week ago today) and I used to attend a church in Mansfield, OH where Pastor Surbrooke would sing this song. I can hear his powerful voice like it was yesterday. They've both met the Superintendent and are in His presence now. I think this may have been a message for me. This song has been on my mind....
This maybe my all time favorite Statler song. Lyrics speak the truth and the harmony is a thing of beauty. One of the last songs Lew did with the boys and IMO went out on top.

This is absolutely beautiful. The Stalers sang wonderful gospel music. You can really hear Lew on this one. Thanks for the post.
