  • I'm thinking about getting a Sheltie. I'm just asking is it worth it? Are they affectionate and easy to train?

  • @ElectricityDraco mine is affectionate, but very independent. It depends on how you train the dog. They are high energy, so you need to exercise them a lot. They are not as affectionate as Labradors or Golden Retrievers.

I think it was very worth it to get one, but you must make sure they fit your lifestyle. Don't get one just because you think they are cute, you must know you can handle their specific type of behavior. Shelties love to bark at everything.

  • MY HEART JUST MELTED

  • hehe :) thank you. :)

  • teaching a dog to roll over is hard but its worth the time and effort

  • yes it was hard at first, but now my sheltie rolls over when we have food in our hands lol!

  • You need to socialize the sheltie when very young. Meet strange people [who will give a small treat] IF you want them to be people friendly

  • Какая милаяяяя ^^

  • @ElectricityDraco You have to start training them very young, as they can be independent. Mine are funny, they run home to greet me when I get home, but sometimes have bizarre moods and seem to sulk away from members of the family for no apparent reason. They do need space to run and play, and they will bark at anything...mine go nuts every morning at the alarm clock.

  • nice !

  • I taught my five year old Shelties to roll over within a few days. I also taught the hyper one to play stair fetch. I love my dogs. There is a video of one of my dogs eating her food, and it is very funny.

  • I'm in college and I miss my sheltie SOOOOOOOO much! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
