Precision Taping brings you another step by step instructional video.
This time around we show you how to build a bulk head.

Bulk Head's are or can be a decorative alternative to your home.
There typical purpose is to hide or cover up any unwanted objects
which you do not want to be seen in your house.
Examples of things which can be hidden by bulk head's: Pipes, Air Ducts, Wiring etc..
Like we mentioned above they can also serve purely as a decorative alternative.

We hope you can take in lots of information from this video
and enjoy it just as much as we did filming it.

  • Very well done video. Your explanations are top notch. Seems as though you'd want studs hanging down from the track that's attached to the ceiling to beef it up. I'm just a weekend warrior though, so my idea could be excessive. Great music choices in the background too.

  • Thank you Halamazoo.

And hanging studs down from the track for extra support isn't a bad idea.

I think in this case the bulk head was only hanging down 9 or 10 inches or so. I forget how much we said in the video. Had it been over 12 inches I probably would have like you mentioned.

And being a weekend warrior isn't a bad thing.

We can always use some outside the box thinking.

    Thank you.

  • you guys did a good job but i think you should lock the studs togetherso the bulk head doesn't shake

  • In socialist Canada, bulkhead builds you!

  • @russdonruss thats exactly what i was thinking, as well for here in Australia, you would have to frame first, would be ok if they put some droppers in after

  • holy fuck dude repeats everything 50 times, we get it, just say it once, explain it and do it, then move on. 90 percent of this video is just dude repeating himself

  • maybe turn off your stereo when your filming!

  • Top work , done the same myself , cheap fast , no load on the face sheet as im sure you put droppers in where needed to give support

    5/5

  • How dyou screw the studs to the top side of the C track? Im doing a similar diy remodeling and have little to no clearance... Common sense would be to screw them from the inside face, but I dunno if this is recomendable?

  • Here's an idea. Subtract your thickness of the track and pull your straight line on the outside.
