It's difficult to describe just how good the talent was that took the stage at Alfred's on Beale during this year's International Blues Challenge sponsored by the Blues Foundation.

Here are some highlights from just a few of the more than 100 bands that competed captured during the the first two days of competition - Wednesday, Feb. 2 and Thursday, Feb. 3. at Alfred's on Beale Street.

In order of appearance - North Carolina's WSNB; Santa Clarita's Toni Dodd & the Southbound Blues Band; Oregon's The Vicki Stevens Band; Virginia Beach's The Mike Lucci Band; and Illinois' The Sugar Prophets.
