Rush Tribute Band 2112 performing 'Free Will' for the Q104.3 Summer Concert Series at Jones Beach Bandshell in 2007....we shared the night with our good friends from Evolution, the ULTIMATE Journey tribute....since it was an outdoor family show, it's kinda funny how people just decide to cross in front of the camera and hang out right in front of the stage....100% live! Mistakes and all! (and yes, the bass guitar was too low in the main mix...) We are a TRIBUTE to Rush, we are NOT out to prove "we can play Rush". We get a lot of enjoyment doing this and we in by no means, intend to portray that we are anything close to our musical heroes. Basically, we are 4 HUGE fans that want to insure if you come out to see us we will share with you a great classic Rush audio and visual experience. Please keep that in mind as you watch knowing that we are as passionate about this music as you are. All original compositions are property of Rush. More high-resolution videos at www.RushTributeBand2112.com and as always, thank you Alex, Geddy and Neil for your enduring inspiration.

  • These guys are incredible and nothing should be said bad about them!!! wow great job

  • @thinough - Actually, the "Scream out desperation but..." from No One at the Bridge, and "...like a spiral sea unending" part of Cygnus X-1, Book 1 go higher. I can still sing the high part of Freewill here (at age 45), but I haven't been able to hit the notes in those other two songs in a long time.

  • 4:09 that's the highest note that Geddy has to hit in any of Rush's songs and he pulled it off alright! well played

  • Good job dudes....keep up the good work.

  • maybe they should kick the singer and get the bassist to sing for a real tribute band

  • Quite frankly, 4:28 was pretty nice, the singer picked it back up for that part. However, it would've been nicer during that whole breakdown solo part if the bass were a bit louder.. I couldn't really hear it.. :(

  • I think the singer started off very well, but dropped it a bit in the middle. I didn't expect a perfect performance just like Geddy, but this is a brilliant cover nonetheless.

  • great job guys it sounds awesome! The vocalist sounds a lot like dennis deyoung by the way

  • Holy Cow, someone can actually hit those notes after the guitar solo! You know...each of us, a cell of awareness

  • it seems you've missed the point. 2112 is a group of guys who love Rush. Every member of this group says Rush is thier favorite band. All they are doing is paying tribute to thier musical idols/heros. Read the comments by the band themself. they are not trying to be Rush just merely pay tribute to them. No band is going to be better than the original, but 2112 do a great job of pulling off some very hard music.
