Fix Xbox 360 " Update Stopped" Screen Error [ DESCRIPTION]

Introduction : If you tried to play games like fifa 12, dead island ect and got an error this video will help you fix it.

First of all, this error happens when you don't have the dashboard needed to play the game and when you update, the software detects a custom firmware on you drive and you get this error, which means your xbox is flashed.

Note : This does NOT mean you are flag or banned.

There are 5 methods you can use to fix this problem.



Method 1

-Turn your console on and Put the game that messed it up.
- Turn it off.
- Hold the Sync button on your CONSOLE not the controller while your xbox is off
- Keep holding it and turn the system on. That clears off all of the fail updates.
- If that did not work go to method 2



Method 2

- Turn it on and remove any discs inside.
- Open the disc tray and while is open unplug the power supply while the tray is open.
- Now very carefully push the tray halfway in.
- Plug the power back and turn it on. It should apply the update but if it doesn't go to method 3.



Method 3

- Turn on your Xbox and remove any discs
- Now get a USB flash drive and plug into the pc and format it to FAT32.
- Next go to this page : http://digiex.net/downloads/download-center-2-0/xbox-360-content/dashboard-up...


- At the bottom there is a file to download called "
Download Xbox 360 Dashboard Update 2.0.13599.0 With Avatars" download it and extract it with WINRAR.

- After you extract it you should get a folder called " $systemupdate" then put into the usb drive formatted to FAT32.

- Plug the usb into the xbox and that fixes it, reapply the update and you are good to go.If this does not work go to method 4



Method 4

- Open your xbox 360 by following a guide and remove the dvd drive by unpling the power cord and the SATA cable on the back.

- Get the xbox of a friend and open it up and remove his dvd drive and put it in your xbox ( it can be the same drive ).

- Turn it on and it should apply the update, after the update is done put back your own xbox 360 drive. If this does not work go to method 5.



Method 5

- Open your xbox 360 and flash your drive back to stock firmware. now apply the update and it should work and if you want reflash it again to the latest ixtreme.

( remember you need tools for method 5 and is very hard if you havent done before)


NOTE : these methods fixes any xbox status code that has to do either with 3151 -335a or 3151 351f

IF THESE DO NOT WORK GET A NEW XBOX ( sorry)

I tried Methods 1,2,3, and they did not work. when i am connecting my power cord my DVD drive burnt . So i am buying a new one .Sorry for the english.

@babbenwand If method 3 did not work then you have a different dashboard than others try downloading other dashboards and put it in the usb

When i was updating my xbox 360 my brother turn it off and i tryed method 1 and it dident work i dont want open my xbox or lose any money because i can fix it on my self....

@slm4all there are other methods after 1 try them all if non of them work then start earning for a new console

well that just suks,because i put in fifa 12 it ws copied and i cud play copied games,it said that my xbox360 had to be update to play it i updated it now i cant play copied games,thats just so unfare,can u make a video of how to flash a xbox360 cause the guys here take like 60 dolllars to get it flashed
