Measuring Social Media ROI from Microsoft - Proving ROI is the bane of every social media marketer out there right now. We definitely measure a lot at Microsoft. We look at the typical fan growth, follower growth, engagement rate, impressions, and certainly the ROI when it comes to media spend. We know that social media is one of the most efficient media we can buy, and I think that's partly due to all the earned, or organic, media that we get. We use a lot of these metrics to package everything together and benchmark. By no means have we perfected our metrics. I hope that down the road there will be a very succinct ability to link social to moving the needle from a business perspective.
