@blackmichael75 it's a matter of perspective some could claim that either Motor Biking or pogoing with the vibrators was the first punk single motor biking being released in 1974 and the other in 1976 by Chris spedding backed by the Vibrators

@Wehategod I'm not sure that I agree with them being underrated. When you ask somebody about british punk they're usually the 3rd band mentioned after the clash and sex pistols.

This was released in October of 76 I believe. However I will have to say the Buzzcocks are one of the Most Underrated Punk Bands of the British Punk Movement. They are very very good

@Wehategod 29 January 1977, according to Wikipedia. The first British single was "New Rose" by the Damned, released on October 22nd, 1976.
