Watch the water bubble in space. Contained within its own hydrogen bonds, lightly electrifying surrounding molecules to form the uniquely liquid barrier to the outside, the introduction of effervescence causes a chain reaction of the formation of multiple modules of water bubbles, all mimicking the properties of the whole. The scientist describes the development of the bipolar situation, whereby two large bubbles will form within the first. Eventually, he describes, one bubble dominates, leaving the rest in an annular space, and still other release out into the void.
Consider the workings of Dr. Emoto, who found that intentions infused into a contained water chamber yielded ice crystals more aesthetically appealing than those without, according to a double blind study with a likelihood of random effect less than .001 (out of 1). What if water, able to absorb intentionality through some mechanism, can also show us about a rapid deduction of human awareness?
How might we pull ourselves into the dominant sphere of awareness that is sustainable, and in alignment with our surrounding environment?
In the case of the water bubble, left on its own the process is natural. Whether random or pre-determined by universal law, the fact of one bubble is eminent. But in our modern analogy of how mental illness is treated, there is no allowance of natural law to take effect. Natural breaks with reality are violently aggressed, sometimes in young children. Our very culture disallows us from entering states of being that challenge our surroundings to embrace a hermeneutics of Fearlessness, above all, and thus a determined patience and empathy.
Ought not our institutions reflect this paradigm, in the same way a good parent would reflect it on their own child?
For we have emerged to the point where parents subscribe to the logic of psychiatry toward very young children. Young children who, by genetic principle, have not even developed to the crest of the manic depressive gene expressing itself from the genome, which occurs in late adolescence (see The Agile Gene).
A relic of a politics of control of deviant behavior, stemming from the Victorian modern period, modern psychiatry seeks to contain and violently repress an inner yearning for peace, understanding and purpose expressed maladaptively, in societies who have not evolved to relate.
Is it any coincidence that in Third World cultures, bipolars and schizophrenics have less of an occurrence in society, because the peculiarities of their behaviors are absorbed into cultures better equipped to address them as a social phenomenon, rather than an atomized, individual one?
