This video celebrates 150 years of Christchurch City Libraries. The opening shot shows the original Linwood Library established in 1909 in the building which was originally built in 1885 for the Linwood Borough Council. The photo is re-created in 2009. The 1 minute 30 second silent movie style video continues with a short story, the moral of which is that if you have a problem such as a car that wont start, the solution is to go to the library and get a book which will enable you to solve the problem. The brick building in the video is the library built in 1901 to replace an earlier wooden building, and which was the main home of public library services until 1982. Filming was done with a basic $200 digital camera. Music by CalikoKat
