As a follow-up to the original video, we tested two phones, an iPhone and a Samsung on Verizon, to see how fast text messages would be received when sent as a group text from the native iPhone SMS app and the my favs Quick Connections for all your Contacts group texting feature. While one would expect AT&T to win the in-network portions (iPhone SMS sent messages) the my favs app puts the task on even ground because Gmail is the sender, and AT&T still clearly held the edge. We encourage others to setup tests to see if they can replicate these results, please post them so we all can share in the knowledge.

More details on how the group texting is possible using my favs is available at www.crazedkitty.com/myfavs/faqs.aspx.

You can get my favs lite at the App Store, http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-favs-lite-quick-connections/id345692539?mt=8, and the full version of my favs at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-favs-quick-connections/id334265780?mt=8.

  • Dude It Send 1 Message At a Time, Who Ever Is 1st on The List WOuld Be Sent To 1st Therefore not Fair Battle.

  • @miStuHgTjuNioR Nope, not the way it worked in this test. All of them were on the list in the number 1 position, all of them had their text messages delivered from the same source, and AT&T didn't win all the time, just most of the time. The list was the same in every test, so i was a perfectly fair battle.

  • if your using an at & t phone to call the same phone or use the same network it would be faster slightly. try using a verizon phone to call a verizon phone or at&t phone. this is not a fair competition.

  • @terry6248 You didn't understand the way the test was conducted. All messages were sent through an external service that was neither AT&T or Verizon. Both of the carriers received teh messages from the same source, had to perform the same steps, and the this is a fair test of their ability and speed to process text messages through their networks. It is also very fair to test across networks since everyone texts across networks at some point.

  • There are so many factors that play into this testing. first your using a at&t phone to text verison phone so it takes longer to get there because it has to be sent to verizons servers. also it depends on how far the cell tower is, how many people texting at once, how slow the servers are ect.

  • fanboy video.

  • verizon sucks

  • try sending from verizon to att and verizon, u wud understand..
