I like this guitar work ... more Mandy Meyer-like than Steve Howe-like. First time Wetton was back, playing anywhere, for a fair while. Carl's last thing was the moderately successful '3' project .. Looks like they're having fun up there!

Hi, thx for uploading this one. Just to get the right direction - my name is Holger Larisch and yes, I am the guitarplayer on this video. After I read all the comments on this I decided to upload some of the songs from that show - go to "scaemi`s" channel - hope you`ll enjoy ;-)

@SPECTRE1961 Go to Scäm Luiz or Scaem Luiz. And you know who is Holgar Larisch.

this might be the 1989 line-up here:
JOHN WETTON : Vovals, Bass
CARL PALMER : Drums
JOHN YOUNG : Keyboards
HOLGER LARISH : Guitar
ZOE NICHOLAS & SUSIE WEBB : Chorus

@wetton82 Yeah ... a lot people think it was Meyer, before Pat Thrall got in there. I would have loved to see that lineup tour ... Meyer is an awesome player
-
The guitar player isn't Armand "Mandy" Meyer ... He never toured with the band .... Real interesting clip, W82, thx for posting it. Yeah John and Carl actually warming up for the Then and Now tour ... Geoff Downes was actually working with Greg Lake, on some demos in the studio, I believe at this time ... Geoff Downes really was a prog-rock slut, in the day .... Anybody have Geoff Downes/Glenn Hughes: the Work Tapes? Heard it's very kool stuff

GREAT posting, Wetton82...THANKS !!
@ JSB779: Pls take ur ignorant vitriole elsewhere. "Washed up"?! Asia sounds terrific here, even if missing Downes and Howe. Wetton's vocals are spot on, Palmer's drumming is strong (as always!), and Holgar was a more than competent replacement for Mandy Meyer. FYI, the orig. 4 members have regrouped, released new music, and are FAR from "washed up"...

Boy, "Asia" sure got washed up in the late 80s.

Mandy Meyer was in Krokus.
Can't see who the keyboard P. is. It's Mandy Meyer
on guitar he went onto "Katmandu" a great band with Dave King from Fastway on Voc.. This is good footage of this period, and C. Palmer on drums! I Believe after Astra Downes worked on the GTR record, the song "The Hunter" its his song, later he did the NDO solo project "The Iight Program" 86 "Vox Humana" 95 and worked with Greg Lake on "Ride the Tiger" a song from this project ended on Aqua. this a fast version of Don't Cry though...cheers
