A simple movie trailer constructed for an English project. This was for our Junior year in school, and our first project using a Movie Maker Program (we didn't have to use it, we just decided to try it).

Please watch the video response to this; my group-mate for this project recently re-did the audio and it sounds a LOT better.

  • It's about suppression from the PEOPLE whose heads hurt when they read a book.

There are several comments already on this vid ("boring book") that prove that it is coming to pass far more than the "big-bad-ol'-government taking books away."

PEOPLE are taking books away by NOT reading anymore.

  • What's with all the planes and the bombs? I hope you haven't fallen into the tired cliche of book burning-censorship from top-down government-to-people. It would mean you've never read the book.

Bradbury's concern has ZERO to do with government or totalitarianism. His concern was censorship, not from top-down, but from bottom-up: the PEOPLE would demand the end of books.

Frankly, that's coming to pass far more than any old boring cliche of the (yawn) "suppression from government."

  • You know - the book is mainly about the bloody burning of bloody books and not so much about the bloody war. Try READING the bloody BOOK!!!!

  • fire not out of control enough.

  • What the crap! This is retarded! I want to see the real trailer.

  • I'm really confused reading some of the "great job" comments. Was this a FILM project or an ENGLISH project? If it was a FILM project, then absolutely great job, because it exactly matches the formulaic trailers identical to every other "action" film. If it was an ENGLISH project I have to ask: did anyone in class even bother to crack open the book and read even a page of it?

Your trailer seems exactly contrary to the point of the book.

  • @AdrianHence

Well said! I feel sorry for a generation that relies on electronics to read books. If you're a traveller or student and it's hard to carry 5 books, then fair dues to Kindle. Otherwise, I don't see the point.

The greatest peace I've ever known is to sit under a tree in the woods beside a brook or a pond, reading a book in one hand while feeding birds out of my other hand. A Kindle? Why not go to the next step and feed electronic robotic birds? As long as their batteries hold out?

  • @EndCredulity Yeah, but the remake will probably go more toward the government censorship issue....

  • You did a great job! I just happened upon this looking for a trailer of the 1966 movie. I'm impressed :)
