Sterkies is proving to be an excellent training ground for speed.
50 knots has been breached here on 7 occasions since May 2009; prior to this it was thought impossible due to how short the run is (250m end-to-end).
Speeds are steadily increasing here as the nuances of the bay are discovered, and I'm confident that a peak in the upper 50's is possible in the right conditions.
This footage was taken by Basil Cambanis using Rob Chrystal's Hero HD cam. It gives one a good perspective of the bay and the quality of the run.
