Interview with Dan Bane, CEO of Trader Joe's

In our acting class, we were given an assignment to interview the head of a business that we especially enjoyed the products of and to interview them on their mission statement. This was to learn how to put together a successful business plan of our own, as actresses.

I edited down the interview into a little less than 5 minutes, and you can tell this is the beginning of a "Trader Joe's Fans in the City" show...

As an ex- Trader Joe's employee I feel sick watching this. TJs is a company that routinely discriminates against women, people over 40, gays, blacks. The atmosphere may be super duper fun to look at but when you're a woman who's worked her butt off over a 6 month period for a 10 cent to 25 cent raise and the guy next to you doing the same job gets 75 cents to a dollar for doing less it isn't that super fun.

hey ladies. dan bane knows shit about the story and culture of trader joes. he used to be the ceo of another grocery company and if he continues on this path traders will become just another one of those shit places that my customers talk about not shopping at anymore. tell him i said to go fuck himself and for a company that likes to "promote from within" he was never a regular. you can tell him i work for him and he signs my paycheck and then you can ask him where he got all his ideas from.
