"THE MORNING AFTER PILL" - PLANNED PARENTHOOD
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

Accidents happen. Maybe you missed a couple pills, or started your pack late, or the condom broke, or you just forgot to use protection, or worst of all, you were forced. Well, it might not be too late to back up your birth control with emergency contraception. Emergency contraception is a safe and effective drug that can prevent pregnancy after sex. Sometimes it's called the morning after pill, but emergency contraception can actually be started up to five (5) days after unprotected sex, not just the morning after. Emergency contraception is more effective the sooner you take it. In fact, your chances of getting pregnant go down by about eighty-nine (89) percent if you start taking it within the first three (3) days after unprotected sex. You should also know that this is birth control and it cannot cause an abortion. The hormones in it prevent your body from releasing an egg or sperm from joining with an egg. If you take it and you're already pregnant, it won't have any effect on the pregnancy.

Where can you get emergency contraception? If you're seventeen (17) or older, it's available without a prescription. Just head on over to your nearest pharmacy or health center. If you're under seventeen (17), you'll need a prescription from your health care provider. No matter how old you are, if you are sexually active, it's always a good idea to have some emergency contraception on hand ahead of time. If you're interested in learning more about emergency contraception, check out the info on http://www.plannedparenthood.org/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=website&a.... You can even find your nearest health center and pick some up ahead of time.

  • Here in canada it only costed me 30 buks and I was 16 and just went to the pharmacy and got it.

  • @msladysaurus i took this 3 weeks ago! i'm still hoping to get my period! it's crazy how you can put so much trust into such a small pill..

  • i just took this today! i feel releived:) btw its not an abortion pill, its not even developed yet!! XD it just prevents the sperm form fertilizing the egg

  • if this is abortion, so are condoms.

this stops the egg and sperm from ever meeting, therefore no child has even begun to form.

  • The people against birth control are thinking of the fetuses, but not the women who are having them. Not everyone is ready to be a mother. Not everyone WANTS to be a mother. It's about the choice, not the killing.

  • @becauseican66 Sorry, I tried to click the thumbs up button and accidentally hit the thumbs down. I can't figure out how to un do it now. Bugger. You're lucky on the price. It cost me $50. I keep it on hand as a back up.
